Illinois Assessor’s Association

The purpose of IAA is to provide a medium through which members may: 1) Promote and protect the combined interests of all Illinois assessors. 2) Disseminate information of interest and concern to all members. 3) Encourage uniformity of administration and assessment and increase cooperation among Illinois assessors. 4) Inform the public, the Illinois legislature, and other governmental bodies of the advantages and benefits derived from well-funded standard assessment practices. 5) Coordinate and cooperate with Township Officials of Illinois (TOI) and other organizations for the purpose of strengthening township government in the state of Illinois.

County Assessment Officer’s Association

The objectives of the Association shall be to improve the standards of assessment practices throughout the State; to provide a clearing device for the collection and distribution of useful information relative to assessment practices; to educate the taxpaying public on the true nature and importance of the work performed by assessing officers; to recommend to members of the General Assembly of the State of Illinois needed legislation relative to assessment practices; to cooperate with public and private agencies interested in assessment practices; and in every proper way to promote justice and equity in the distribution of the tax burden.

Certified Illinois Assessing Officer’s Association

The Certified Illinois Assessing Officer’s Association is open to all individuals who hold a CIAO designation. The objective of the association shall be to help promote and encourage more and better educational training for assessing personnel: to recommend to members of the General Assembly of the State of Illinois needed legislation relative to assessment practices beneficial to all Certified Illinois Assessing Officials; and to provide social functions for members of the Association.
