2010 Course Schedule
The 2010 course schedule will be posted on this site on Thursday, October 1, 2009. Three major conferences are being planned for Bloomington, Lisle, and Fairview Heights. The annual "Course Schedule & Informational Catalog" will be mailed during the last week in October.
2010 Spring Conference
The 52nd Annual Spring Conference will be held Sunday, March 14 through Friday, March 19, 2010 at the Double Tree Hotel in Bloomington.
Remaining 2009 Conferences
Two major conferences remain on the schedule for 2009.
The Northeast Conference is scheduled for August 3 through 7 in Lisle, Illinois. This conference has 10 classes scheduled. Students interested in "The Income Approach: A Detailed Examination" and "Valuing Property Affected by Environmental Laws & Regulations" should register immediately. Both classes are near capacity as of 6/22/09.
The Southwest Conference is scheduled for October 5 through 9 in Fairview Heights, Illinois. This conference has nine classes scheduled. Students interested in "Analyzing the Appraisal of Fuel Stations & Convenience Stores" and "Condominiums" should register immediately. Both classes are near capacity as of 6/22/09.
Education 2000 Changes
Effective January 1, 2010, several changes will take effect. The following changes should be noted:
- Level 2 hours will increase from 300 to 420 hours
- The restriction of 120 hours per category within Level 2 will be eliminated (i.e., students may take more than 120 hours in any category)
- New topic, assessment methodology, or technology exception will be eliminated
Appraisal Continuing Education Courses
A listing of the courses that have been approved for continuing education credit by the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation can be found by clicking the "Appraisers" tab to the left.
In addition to the courses listed, the Institute has recently gained approval for the following courses:
IAAO 101 - Fundamentals of Real Property Appraisal (33 hours of credit)
IAAO 102 - Income Approach to Valuation (33 hours of credit)
Payment for Classes
Payment for Institute courses is expected 2 weeks prior to the beginning of the course. Students that fail to pay for a course will not be allowed to attend additional courses. In addition, successful completion will not be reported to the Department of Revenue until payment is received. Payments will no longer be accepted at class locations. All payments must be sent to the IPAI office.
